Meet our Providers

Shawn D Barrong, MD FACOG

Dr. Barrong is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He graduated from the University of Washington Medical School in 1993. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix Arizona in 1997. He’s an affiliate of American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He is a multiple year Spokane’s Best 100 Doctors recipient and is a clinical professor for the University of Washington’s Medical School. Dr. Barrong is an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and trips to the back country. He also loves Gonzaga basketball.

Peter E. Fern, MD FACOG

Dr. Fern, MD is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He graduated from the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center in Portland, Oregon in 1977 and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Naval Regional Medical Center Oakland through the University of California San Francisco in 1981. He is the practice’s senior partner and a multiple year Spokane’s Best 100 Doctors recipient. Dr. Fern is serious about golf and devoted to his family. He is a clinical professor for the University of Washington’s Medical School.

Jeffrey L. Hilton, MD, FACOG

Dr. Hilton is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He earned his medical doctorate from the University of Iowa in 2002. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University in 2005 and served as chief resident in 2006. Dr. Hilton in bilingual in Spanish and English. He is the practice’s much appreciated computer guru. In his spare time he enjoys outdoor recreational and sports activities and time with his family.

Glen A. Hiss, MD, FACOG

Dr. Hiss, MD is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr Hiss graduated from the Albany Medical College in Albany New York in 1977 and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Travis Air Force Base in 1981. He served as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at both Davis Monthan and Fairchild Air Force Bases. He is a clinical professor for the University of Washington’s Medical School. Dr. Hiss is involved with Habit for Humanity. He enjoys biking, skiing and spoiling his grandchildren, not necessarily in that order.

Kathryn M. Miles, MD

Dr. Miles is board eligible in obstetrics and gynecology. She graduated from the University of Washington Medical School in 2006. She completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester in New York in 2010. While providing comprehensive OB/GYN services, Dr. Miles particularly enjoys providing education and care to adolescents and young women. She is an avid reader and loves the outdoors and spending time with her family

Daniel J. Zwiesler, MD

Dr. Zwiesler is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He graduated from the University of Arkansas Medical School in 2004. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Oklahoma at Tulsa in 2008. Dr. Zwiesler provides a full range of obstetrical and gynecological services. He grew up in Yakima, Washington. He enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities, including running marathons, and spending time with family and friends. He is a Clinical instructor in the Department of OB/GYN at the University of Washington.

UROGYNECOLOGY

Sarah Hammil, MD

Dr. Hammil graduated from Creighton University Medical School in 2004 and completed her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City in 2008. Following this, Dr. Hammil completed a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of New Mexico in 2011. She provides comprehensive care for women with incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Dr. Hammil is a native to Spokane and enjoys spending time outdoors, running and mountain biking – and sharing time with family and friends.


Linda M. Partoll, MD, FACOG

Dr. Partoll is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1987 She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1991 and completed her Fellowship in Urogynecology at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Illinois in 1993. Dr. Partoll is a clinical professor for the University of Washington’s Medical School. She is a Chicago Cubs fan (sigh) and busy mom. She especially enjoys the outdoors in the great Northwest and can often be spotted at local sporting events.

 

CERTIFIED NURSE MIDWIVES


Sara Holt, CNM, ARNP

Sara earned her Bachelors of Nursing from University of Kansas in 1990 and received her Masters of Science from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1996. Sara is accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. She has participated in several medical mission trips to Africa. She is devoted to her family and enjoys traveling with them and friends to sunny places, especially during our cold winters.


Shelley Northern, CNM, ARNP

Shelley earned her Bachelor in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University in 1994. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse before obtaining certificate in nurse-midwifery from the University of Washington in 2008. Shelley is accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. She is from the Skagit Valley in Western Washington and has a special appreciation for both Fine and Culinary Arts, but her family is her passion.

 

ADVANCE NURSE PRACTITIONERS AND CERTIFIED PHYSICIAN’S ASSISTANT

Teresa Kelly, ARNP

Teresa graduated from the Deaconess School of Nursing in 1975 and received her designation as a Physician’s Assistant from Medex NW/University of Washington in 1980. She is home grown, having attended Marycliff High School. She loves traveling when she is not enjoying her fanily’s second home on the sound in Western Washington, and has been to Ireland to follow her roots.


Susan McFadden, ARNP

Susan earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Washington State University Intercollegiate College of Nursing in1985 and her Master’s in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Washington State School of Nursing in 2000. She received the Nurse Practitioner Preceptor of the Year award in 2005 and is a clinical faculty member with Intercollegiate Center of Nursing. Susan has traveled to Central America with her students on medical missions on multiple occasions. She is active in Spokane’s Free Restaurant for Women and Children and enjoys such outdoor activities as running, cross country skiing and is devoted to her family.

Krista Kahl, PA-C

Krista earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Eastern Washington University in 1998 and her Bachelor of Science, Physicians Assistant Studies from Rocky Mountain College in 1998. Being her work as a Certified Physician’s Assistant and a busy family life, Krista enjoys running for fun and health and time with her friends.

Jessica Colby, ARNP

Jessica earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Boston College School of Nursing in 1999, and her Master of Science, Maternal and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner University of Buffalo, the State University of New York in 2006. Jessica has an active family and is involved in community programs. She is also an outdoor’s enthusiast when time allows.

Natalia Barko, ARNP

Natalia received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Washington State University College of Nursing in 2005 and her Master of Nursing from Washington State University School of Nursing in 2009 and worked as a labor and delivery nurse while completing her degree. She was born in the Ukraine and speaks fluent Russian. She enjoys hiking and camping, traveling and time with friends and family.
