About Northwest Ob-GYN

OUR HISTORY

Northwest OB-GYN was founded through the work of Dr. Robert Walker, Steve Brisbois, Peter Fern and Glen Hiss.  These four innovative, quality minded and compassionate physicians had formed a practice known as Walker, Brisbois, Fern and Hiss,  developed  the practice from referrals and work with respected and  beloved – but retiring-  OB-GYN physicians Dr. John Moyer and Dr. Larry Brewer.  Progressive clinicians even then, the four founding physicians realized their practice would grow and include specialties within the OB-GYN field and selected the name, Northwest OB-GYN, in recognition of serving women throughout the greater northwest across the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Peter Fern, FACOG (1985) and Dr. Hiss, FACOG (1986) continue to be sought after physicians by both patients and referring physicians, while Dr. Walker consults with the practice on medical regulations.  Dr. Brisbois has joined Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center as one of its Robotics experts.

Over the years, Dr. Linda Partoll, FACOG, (1993), Dr. Shawn Barrong, FACOG (1997), Dr. Jeffrey Hilton, FACOG (2006), Dr. Daniel Zwiesler, FACOG (2008), Dr. Kathryn Miles (2010) and Dr. Sarah Hammil (2011) have shared the same value and vision of a patient centered practice.

These physicians ensure that the full range of comprehensive and integrated women’s health care is provided with expertise and compassion throughout Northwest OB-GYN.

NWOBGYN remains committed to offer comprehensive women’s healthcare services under a shared center of excellence, staying current in new technologies, medical advances and subspecialties, to provide the best integrated care for our patients.

In addition to providing the full range of physician obstetrics and gynecology, the practice was delighted to have Dr. Linda Partoll join and focus on Urogynecology.  Dr. Partoll is one of the very few physicians in our wide geographic area to have been Fellowship trained in this specialty field.  Dr. Sarah Hammil, joining NWOBGYN in 2011 is our second specialist physician in this area and is also Fellowship trained in Urogynecology.  Dr. Partoll has privileges at both CHS-Deaconess Medical Center and Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.

In 1989 the practice recognized the special place that midwifery can have along the pregnancy experience and developed a practice with certified nurse midwives.  Sara Holt (2008) and Shelley Northern, ARNP (2010) continue the legacy of now retired midwife Sharron Bradley, ARNP, CNM in assisting those women who have lower risk pregnancies and the desire midwifery care option.  Our Certified Nurse midwives deliver at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center’s Birthing Place.

The practice supported NW OB-GYN physicians with an interest and desire in becoming certified in the use of robotics surgeries for OB-GYN.

The practice also realized that patient care and convenience could also be furthered if we were to offer high quality in-office ultrasounds performed by highly competent and quality Sonographers.  In 2011, NWOBGYN replaced its older machines with  two new “state of the art” 3d/4D ultrasounds that were designed specifically for use in women’s healthcare.

Northwest OB-GYN also has excellent ARNP and PA-C staff that are important and valued members of our health care team and whom our patients may see during various components of their care at our offices.

The practice has electronic medical records, and is committed to fulfilling HIPAA requirements., billing compliance, and other regulatory and legal requirements  for practicing healthcare.

Northwest OB-GYN has successfully met women’s healthcare needs in an ever changing healthcare environment for over 30 years, and looks forward to continuing to be the physician practice of choice for women throughout the great Northwest.
